Our course for children is designed for future kayakers in this wonderful sport, nothing better than to keep them away for a few hours of technology to bring them to sport and nature, they will be safe, comfortable and we teach them to know the kayaks, to paddle, trust themselves and have fun paddling.
For those who have never taken a course in kayaking or want to start this activity with an excellent instructor and in an enjoyable way they can learn from the basics: how to load a kayak, necessary and right equipment, how to get in and out in different conditions, how to paddle properly, and to begin sealing in conditions of still waters such as rivers or lakes in the safest way. You will learn about variables that influence kayaking, by doing it in the safest way.
Understanding that our level and maneuver technique are critical to prevent risks and rollovers will prior review of our capabilities, to improve those weaker in a protected and flat water that allows learning environment the safest way. We develop and practice different types of rescues to apply according to the characteristics and conditions that may occur in reality. We will work assisted rescue and self-rescues analyzing some incidents that might occur. Note: Since we are going to be enough time in the water, it is recommended to use dry suit.
All kayaker wants to be able to roll if capsize. At the symposium we offer the possibility to take the first steps to learn this technique. Just a little technique and delicacy is required. Once mastered, it is a skill that will increase your confidence as a kayaker, so travel will be much more rewarding. The course focuses on the specific skills needed to rotate a sea kayak. You will work to improve your technique, flexibility and control, adding also the opportunity to learn with the best instructors in the world.
Join to kayak surfing instructors to go for the waves by using either sea kayaks or whitewater kayaks. Participants in this class must have already formed skills and confidence. You should be familiar and comfortable at surfing zone. Our instructors will teach you techniques such as entering to the sea from the beach, safe outputs, surfing techniques and everything you need to enjoy your kayak in the surfing zone. Wearing helmet is mandatory. Participants must be in good physical condition, as it will be a demanding class. The location of this class will be determined by wave conditions.
For those who have already learned the basics, this course will allow them to improve their maneuvers, such as edging, rotations, high and low braces that will avoid unexpected capsizes, and everything associated to good coordination of paddler and boat, which will allow us to perform better under more demanding navigation as wind, waves and currents. This will allow us to prepare to sail in open water (sea) and enjoy more demanding conditions. Also includes learning self-rescue and assisted rescues paddle float.
Level: Advanced, intermediate and beginner kayaker
Theoretical and practical course essential for all kayaker who wants to get a weekend or an expedition of several days, you will learn the importance of choosing your equipment and transcendence of a well load up the kayak. Weather forecast, map reading, communications and planning are some of the topics we will see in this course.
This is the class to prepare for the unknown. We will see common mishaps that occur when paddling in a group and how to handle them before they become out of control. We’ll see useful and necessary techniques such as rescue and towing. We will also see how a good risk assessments and proper planning can help avoid problems. You should already have a solid paddling and assisted rescue skills and will implement these skills for a few real scenarios. Instructors set a number of situations so you can manage multi-Kayaks rescues and sick or injured paddlers rescues, lost or broken equipment under unfavorable weather conditions. The lessons of this class stay with you throughout your career as a kayaker. Participants should dress for prolonged immersion in cold water and be prepared for all conditions with rescue kit.
Following Incident Management 101, here you will see in real conditions, the principles you learned in the previous level, but limited timelines and surprising situations that trainers will implement to prepare when you have to apply, with clients, relatives and people less trained than you.
This course aims to learn and improve control techniques kayak and your ability to rescue under real conditions. It will begin with a review of your maneuvers and rescue techniques in flat water to ensure they are effective and efficient. Then we will see how they could be improved and modified in conditions of wind and waves. Sail in dynamic water to put these new skills to the test!. If the weather permits, we will practice on stage most complicated rescue. Be sure to wear a towline and a helmet.
Note: Since we will be enough time in the water, we suggest you to wear a dry suit.
This course is for kayakers who already have knowledge of the roll. The sense of this course is to learn the essence, simplicity and efficiency developed over the centuries through different Greenland roll. They designed a special kayak for this and most likely they knew very well how to roll with style and safety. This course will teach on the beach as adjust your kayak, how to use Greenland paddle and the position and flexibility of your body. Then in the water, the most common roll: C to C, the sweep, Butterfly (butterfly) and some other.
If you want to start having exciting moments while paddling among the rocks, this is the course you were looking for. To enter you must have a good base control and maneuvering the kayak, being fundamental also braces (high and low) and edging. Here you will apply those techniques that you learned or practiced on flat water and you thought were bored and maybe it was but now you are going to be able to apply them for real and everything is going to be funny and better. You can also learn to “read”, get the timing, and decide correctly where to navigate, what to do and many other variables that influence navigation between the rocks.
Highly recommended use of plastic kayak and wearing helmet is mandatory.
Advanced kayaking maneuvers (Braces, maneuvers and rescues)
Level: Advanced and intermediate kayaker
For those who have already passed the previous levels an entertaining course is waiting, which will be able to improve and debug all your maneuvers and riding kayaking, as well as rescue and self-rescue, which will later allow venture into open water (sea ), and enjoy and not suffer with the different conditions it offers us every day. A good base at this level and above will support us to successfully face challenges and to continue growing following courses in kayaking.
The real goal of this course is to learn how to plan a day trip on a large expanse of open water and then execute that plan. With the potential for stunning views and many teachable moments along the way, the topics could include navigational practices, tides and currents, group management, rescues, steering control in the wind and more. Kayakers should be prepared to paddle 24K (13 NM) at a moderate speed during the day.
